Per Hooman Sharifi l’arte è un percorso di coscienza civile, un mezzo comunicativo, di indagine e commento sulla realtà sociale. Il coreografo iraniano residente in Norvegia presenta un solo in cui autobiografia e riflessione politica si fondono in una performance che affronta con sincerità e disillusione temi intimi e cocenti quali la ricerca dell’identità, l’eredità del passato, il pregiudizio. Un lavoro che accetta la sua stessa “impurità” come elemento di forza e che fa leva sulla complicità degli spettatori per aprire un dibattito di urgenza e attualità.
For Hooman Sharifi art is a means to raise social awareness, a communicative tool with which to question our society and comment on it. The Norway-based Iranian choreographer presents a solo where autobiography and political engagement are blended in a performance touching with sincerity and disenchantment on intimate and burning themes, from the quest for identity to the legacy of the past, to prejudice. A work that accepts its own ‘impurity’ as an element of strength and that appeals to the spectators’ complicity to open a debate of urgency and interest.
