Originally created as part of the now legendary project Highway 101, "sand table" is a live installation, between performance and video art – the result of a collaboration between the eclectic French artist Magali Desbazeille and Meg Stuart, an American choreographer among the most outstanding in the world. A video image is projected onto a table covered with sand: it presents dancers lying on a wooden floor. Other performers, a live presence, manipulate the sand: the recorded image flutters, changes and generates a new level of reality, between truth and illusion. A gem of poetry and intimacy.
